<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the image density in a multiply exposed area, when scanning and exposure are performed by using a plurality of laser beams. <P>SOLUTION: An exposure device has first light sources A1 to A4 for emitting a first light beam for exposing a photoreceptor and second light sources B1 to B4 for emitting a second light beam for exposing the photoreceptor. The exposure device exposes the photoreceptor such that areas exposed to the respective first and second light beams at least partially overlap each other. A laser drive circuit supplies a first drive current having a predetermined value for emitting the first light beam and a second drive current for emitting the second light beam to the respective first and second light sources. The intensities of the respective first and second light beams or the sum of the intensities of the first and second light beams are detected. The laser drive circuit controls the value of the second drive current based on the detection result such that the sum of the intensities of the first and second light beams becomes equal to a target intensity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
