#CMT# #/CMT# The cooker (1) has a lid placed on a pot (2) to form a sealed cooking chamber with the pot, where the pot receives food to be cooked. The lid has an inner surface located against an interior of the chamber, and an outer surface opposite to the inner surface. A cover (8) is made of plastic material such as thermoplastic material, and totally covers the outer surface of the lid. The lid has a main body that is masked by the cover. The cover is attached to the lid, and a locking/unlocking unit locks/unlocks the lid on the pot. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Domestic pressure cooker i.e. thermally passive steam pressure cooker, for cooking food under steam pressure. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The cover made of plastic material totally covers the outer surface of the lid and masks the main body of the lid, thus preventing a user from directly touching the main body, and hence avoiding the risk of burning to the user, while reducing the feeling of anxiety of the user. The cover improves the aesthetic appearance and the overall energy efficiency of the cooker, while permitting to control the vertical positioning of the lid in the pot. The lid is placed on the pot to form the sealed cooking chamber, thus allowing a significant increase in pressure within the chamber during cooking, so that the pressure in the chamber is higher than the atmospheric pressure, and hence cooking the food, in a rapid, efficient and safe manner. The cooker can be manufactured in a simple and inexpensive manner. The cooker is compact, and is simple and reliable to operate. The design of the cooker allows easy implementation of the locking/unlocking unit with respect to the pot requiring a specific relative position of the lid on the pot.
