<p>Disclosed is an elevator monitoring device which enables keeping track of the positional relation between elevator cages without zooming out on or scrolling the entire hoistways on the display screen. To this end, the elevator monitoring device includes a receiver section for receiving positional information of each elevator cage; and a display control section for displaying a plurality of existing-floor symbols in an orderly sequence associated with the positional relation between each cage, the existing-floor symbols being indicative of the floors associated with the position of each cage, and for displaying a cage symbol representative of each cage corresponding to each of the existing-floor symbols. The display control section is adapted such that a display area assigned between a plurality of existing-floor symbols for floors between those associated with the position of each cage is compressed in the direction of the sequence of the plurality of existing-floor symbols when compared with a plurality of symbols indicative of each floor between those associated with the position of each cage being displayed in sequence.</p> |
