<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase output density and energy density in a battery. <P>SOLUTION: A battery or an energy device contains a first electrode having a first surface and a base part for positioning a counter-electrode having the base part and a second mesh-like surface in the vicinity. The first surface, in a mesh state, zones a plurality of protuberances 28 and intercalating recesses and is given a surface area at least 1.5 times a theoretical surface area of the flat and non-mesh-like surface.
