VEHICLE PERIPHERY MONITORING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle periphery monitoring device which detects a mobile object from a photographed image without using image processing by optical flow and by which a driver easily notices the existence of the mobile object.

SOLUTION: The vehicle periphery monitoring device includes: a photographing apparatus which is mounted on a self-vehicle to photograph the periphery of the outside of the self-vehicle; a controller which includes a detection means for setting a detection line in the photographed image photographed with the photographing apparatus to detect change of brightness of pixels on the detection line to be generated in accordance with the move of the mobile object which moves along the detection line and a generation means for generating information display according to results detected by the detection means; and a display device which displays the photographed image and the information display.
