The machine has a storage unit (1) for storing plates, where each plate comprises wooden lattens assembled together. Each plate comprises a surface whose dimension is greater than that of a bottom part of a container. A gripping unit (2) grips the plates. The gripping unit is moved for placing each plate between the storage unit towards a cutting device (7). An optical detection unit (13) locates a center of the bottom part of the container. Another gripping unit (3) arranges a cut bottom from the cutting device towards another storage unit (17) receiving the bottom part of the container.
