<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an FM-MODEM device, which is capable of transmitting party designation and FAX reception at any place with a conventional FAX machine, as communication means that is more convenient, easier to be managed, and safer than before. <P>SOLUTION: When sending a FAX message with a front page of which an identification symbol (such as a number or name) of the transmitting party is written at a fixed position, an FM-MODEM receives it as a FAX receiver to convert it into image data. The identification symbol on the front page is recognized, and an e-mail address of the transmitting party is obtained from a transmitting party e-mail list that is previously registered.
