The system (1) has a compounding device (3) i.e. twin screw extruder, producing a plastic strand (2). The compounding device is connected with a downstream measurement device (28) in a transport direction (8) of the plastic strand. A striking element is rotationally driven by a drive motor along a rotation axis to exercise strike of the plastic strand. A measuring sensor measures measuring signal during the beat at the plastic strand. A control device (7) determines impact strength properties of the plastic strand, which are measured with respect to material index from the measurement signal.
