METHOD, SYSTEM AND MEDIA GATEWAY FOR REALIZING DETECTION OF NETWORK FAILURE

A method, a system and a Media Gateway (MGW) for realizing the detection of a network failure are provided. When the MGW detects that the network failure occurs, instead of coding the notifying message directly for reporting, it waits for the preset time length according to the time parameter of the detection event, then the notifying message will be coded for reporting until the network failure is not recovered within the time length range defined by the Media Gateway Controller (MGC), thus reducing the number of message interaction added by the detection of the network failure, and lowering the network burden. By the method and the system, the call drops caused by the transient interruption of the media are reduced effectively, and the client experience is improved greatly. At the same time, the method also expands the package in H.248 protocol, which enables the H.248 protocol to be applied to the MGC and the MGW more effectively, also enables the MGC to better achieve the control of the MGW, and enables the networking using the architecture ideology of separating the controlling from bearing to obtain the further development.
