PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain a thermal print head capable of discriminating the kind.SOLUTION: The thermal print head includes: a driving IC 70; a plurality of heat generation wiring patterns 40; and at least one wiring pattern 50 for discrimination. The driving IC 70 has a plurality of outputting terminals 72 and outputs heat generation controlling signals from the outputting terminals 72. A plurality of heat generation wiring patterns 40 are arranged at certain intervals in the main scanning direction 91 to generate heat based on the heat generation controlling signals. The wiring pattern 50 for discrimination is arranged at least one end side of the main scanning direction 91 of a plurality of heat generation wiring patterns 40, and even when the heat generation controlling signal is output from the driving IC 70, it does not generate heat. The number of the outputting terminals 72 is equal to a sum of the number of the heat generation wiring patterns 40 and the number of the wiring pattern 50 for discrimination. |
