PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet processing device capable of performing superior folding even when a sheet bundle is thick or the number of sheets is large without requiring a complicated processing. SOLUTION: Within a predetermined time after a pushing member 825 starts a pushing operation to push a sheet bundle toward a pair of folding conveyor rollers 826, it is detected by a detector whether or not the front end of the pushing member 825 reaches a position beyond a line connecting the center axes of the pair of folding conveyor rollers in the direction of the pushing operation of the pushing member 825. When the pushing member 825 does not reach the position within the predetermined time, the pushing member 825 performs the pushing operation again. When the pushing member 825 reaches the position within the predetermined time, the pushing operation by the pushing member is stopped, and the rotatingly driving of the pair of folding conveyor rollers 826 is started.
