PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single plate type imaging apparatus which is small size, manufactured at low cost, and allows correction of axial chromatic aberration. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus has: an optical system; an image pickup device which picks up a subject image obtained via the optical system; a color filter in which a plurality of kinds of colors are arranged like a mosaic according to the respective pixels of the image pickup device; a distance change means capable of changing distance between the optical system and the image pickup device in the optical axis direction; a storage part which stores image data picked up by the image pickup device; and an image processing part which processes the image data, wherein the distance change means changes the distance between the optical system and the image pickup device in the optical axis direction according to focal positions which are different depending on transmitted light according to the plurality of kinds of colors of the color filter, makes the storage part store the image data on the colors corresponding to the focal positions at the respective focal positions according to the plurality of kinds of colors, or captures the image data in the image processing part, and the image processing part synthesizes the image data according to the plurality of kinds of colors to perform demosaic processing.
