PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frame structure capable of reasonably comprising a necessary strength and a concrete filling property according to the strength of a beam. SOLUTION: This frame structure 1 includes a steel pipe 20 forming a column 10, a concrete filled in the steel pipe 20, a diaphragm 30 disposed in the steel pipe 20, and steel-framed beams 40 joined to the outer surfaces of the steel pipe 20. The diaphragm 30 is formed of a plurality of vertical plates 31, 32 the both ends of which are welded to the opposed surfaces of the steel pipe 20 at positions corresponding to the flanges of the steel-framed beams 40. The upper edges of the vertical plates 31, 32 are positioned near a first reference plane set at a position higher by the wall thickness of the steel pipe 20 than the upper surfaces of the flanges. The lower edges of the vertical plates 31, 32 are positioned near a second reference plane set at a position lower by the wall thickness of the steel pipe 20 than the lower surfaces of the flanges.
