<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply system for an electric railroad efficiently operating a power storage device. <P>SOLUTION: The power supply system 15 for the electric railroad includes a diode rectifier 1 converting the AC power supplied from a power company system 5 into the DC power, a single phase inverter 2 which converts the DC power supplied from the diode rectifier 1 into the AC power, supplies the AC power to an AC feeding system 6, and converts the regenerative power supplied from the AC feeding system 6 into the DC power, a storage battery 4, a two-way chopper circuit 3 for controlling the charge/discharge of the storage battery 4, and a two-way chopper control device 11 for controlling the two-way chopper circuit 3 so that the DC voltage Vdc of the single phase inverter 2 is higher than the DC voltage maintained by the diode rectifier 1 when the amount of charge of the storage battery 4 is sufficient. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
