The assembly has a sheet cross-piece (11) fixed on an apron (2) of a body shell of a motor vehicle by a screw (12) traversing the cross-piece. The screw is screwed on a nut (6) applied against a sheet reinforcement (13) to lock the cross-piece against an apron sheet (4) and against the reinforcement. The screw traverses a part (14) of the cross-piece and a part (15) of the reinforcement. The parts are deformed such that an axis (Y-Y') of the screw is inclined with respect to an axis (X-X') perpendicular to a contact plane (P) of the cross-piece or the reinforcement on the sheet.
