PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video camera and a video monitoring system using the same which achieve imaging optimal for both image processing and monitoring at a low cost. SOLUTION: The video camera includes a solid-state imaging device 103 to be used as a photoelectric conversion part for converting an optical image into an electric signal, a signal selection circuit 104 to be used as a signal selection part for distributing the electric signals output from the solid-state imaging device 103 into a plurality of channels by frame period, and a sensitivity control means 109 to be used as a sensitivity control part for controlling sensitivity in the solid-state imaging device 103 for each channel.
