PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for transmitting images, which can greatly contribute to improvement in user-friendliness by eliminating troublesome operations when sending an image to the user himself/herself, and which can prevent a security hole wherein important image information is sent in secret. SOLUTION: The apparatus for transmitting images includes: an input unit for inputting an image; an authentication unit for authenticating a user; an acquisition unit for acquiring destination information associated with the user authenticated by the authentication unit; a holding unit for holding a group of destination information which includes a plurality of destination information set as the transmission destinations of the image; a transmission unit for transmitting the image using each of the destination information included in the group of destination information, according to an indication of start of transmission from the user; an operation key for setting the destination information associated with the user authenticated by the authentication unit as the transmission destination; and an addition unit for adding destination information acquired by the acquisition unit to the group of destination information according to the operation of the operation key.
