PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damper and a wood construction using the same, which exert an excellent vibration control effect to the wood construction, in which a wooden framework panel construction method using panel members or a wood frame construction method is adopted, and free from restriction on a place of installation. SOLUTION: The damper 1 includes a highly rigid first member 2 fixed to the panel member 13 with a fixing implement (a wood screw 5), a highly rigid second member 3 fixed to a side face 11a of a vertical member 11 with the wood screw 5, and a plate-like damping member 4 made of viscoelastic high damping rubber, sandwiched between the highly rigid first member 2 and a facing part 3a of the highly rigid second member 3, and integrally fixed through cure adhesion. By arranging the damper 1 at a joint part of a wood frame F or at the center of the vertical frame, the force applied to the panel member 13 is absorbed through shearing deformation of the damping member 4 and vibrations of the wood frame F are suppressed when a lateral force is applied to the wood frame F by vibrations of an earthquake etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
