PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component that suppresses cracking and spreading thereof in a glass insulating film provided on a surface of a core made of conductive ferrite such as Mn-Zn so as to form an electrode directly on the core, and has superior durability and reliability. SOLUTION: The electronic component includes a core component 10 as an element body and a glass film 6b covering at least a part of the element body, and holes 7 of 0.1 to 10.6μm in diameter and 0.1 to 15.1% in porosity are present in the glass film 6b. When the porosity is 0.6 to 6%, the strength is increased more and the size of a crack is made smaller. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
