PURPOSE: A strand drawing device and a control method thereof are provided to reduce the load applied to the device because a plurality of reciprocating units alternately apply a tensile force to a strand being drawn. CONSTITUTION: A strand drawing device comprises first reciprocating units(110) and second reciprocating units(120). The first reciprocating units comprise a first wedge set(140) capable of chucking a strand(W) and reciprocate by the extension and contraction of first cylinders(111,112). The second reciprocating units comprise a second wedge set(150) capable of chucking the strand and reciprocate in front of the first reciprocating units by the extension and contraction of second cylinders(121,122).
