<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device of an internal combustion engine, equipped with a particulate filter, in which a regeneration process is performed by using combustion heat generated when reducing substance in exhaust gas is burnt with an oxidation catalyst, and achieving a satisfactory regeneration process of the particulate filter by a S-poisoning elimination process for inhibiting deterioration of a fuel consumption even when the oxidation catalyst deteriorates. <P>SOLUTION: In the exhaust emission control device of the internal combustion engine, an SO<SB>X</SB>holding amount A in a holding part of a sulfur component detection device arranged on an upstream side of the particulate filter in an exhaust passage, is estimated (step 102), the S-poisoning elimination process of the oxidation catalyst is performed when the SO<SB>X</SB>holding amount becomes a set amount A' or more (step 104), and when temperature-rising velocity S of the particulate filter in the initial stage of the regeneration process of the particulate filter becomes a set velocity S' or less (step 107), the set amount is reduced (step 108). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
