PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device capable of preventing the discoloration and deterioration with age of a bulb and sealing sections and maintaining an effect obtained by preparing a trigger wire for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The light source device including an arc tube 100 having the bulb 110, first and second electrodes 121, 122, first and second metal foil 131, 132, first and second sealing sections 141, 142, and first and second lead wires 151, 152 includes a first trigger wire 210 connected with the first sealing section 141, and a second trigger wire 220 connected with the second sealing section 142. One end side of the first trigger wire 210 is connected at a position A2 separated by a designated distance from a boundary A1 between the bulb 110 and the first sealing section 141, the other end side of the first trigger wire is connected with the second lead wire 152, one end side of the second trigger wire 220 is connected at a position B2 separated by a designated distance from a boundary B1 between the bulb 110 and the second sealing section 142, and the other end side of the second trigger wire is connected with the second lead wire 152.
