PURPOSE: A refrigerator and a door assembly for a refrigerator are provided to relieve the physical fatigue of a user when storing food or drawing out from a refrigerator body, and to store or draw out food more effectively. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator includes a main body and a door assembly formed on the lower part of the front of the main body to be slidable forward and backward. The door assembly includes a door device(110) provided with a knob, a receiving housing(120) formed on the rear of the door device to house the rear of the door device, a link device(130) connecting the receiving housing and the door device, and an auxiliary member(140) installed between the door device and the link device to assist the vertical movement of the door device.
