PURPOSE: A lithium complex oxide for a lithium secondary battery positive active material and a method for preparing the same are provided to ensure high capacity, excellent cycleability and high temperature maintenance properties by improving lithium nickel oxides for lithium secondary battery positive electrode active materials. CONSTITUTION: A lithium complex oxide for a lithium secondary battery positive active material is obtained by applying at least one kind of oxide particles selected from Al2O3, TiO2, SiO2, SnO2, MgO, Fe2O3, Bi2O3, Sb2O3, ZrO2 to the surface of a compound represented by chemical formula 1: LixNi_(1-y-z)CoyMzO2, wherein 0.98<=x<=1.1, 0.1<=y<=0.35, 0.03<=z<=0.35, and M is at least one metal element selected from the group consisting of Al, Zn, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe and Y. |
