PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optional waveform generator capable of performing highly-accurate distortion correction to a waveform having an optional frequency, without connection to an external device for correction, by including a correction circuit in itself. SOLUTION: This optional waveform generator include: a waveform data generation part having a waveform memory for storing waveform data showing a change with time of a waveform to be generated, and a control means for reading out waveform data from the waveform memory; and a DA conversion part for converting waveform data outputted from the waveform data generation part into an analog electric signal, and generating it as an output waveform. The optional waveform generator also include a correction circuit for inputting the waveform data outputted from the waveform data generation part and the analog electric signal outputted from the DA conversion part, detecting a distortion amount of the analog electric signal to the waveform data, correcting the waveform data based on the distortion amount, and performing feedback of the corrected waveform data to the waveform memory.
