Epoxy resins comprising deagglomerated barium sulphate with an average particle size of less than 0.5μM feature increased flexural impact strength and breaking extension. Epoxy resins of this kind can be used as, for example, composite material or binders in watercraft construction, in wind turbines, in pipes, for containers or in aircraft construction, in particular in composite materials comprising glass fibre or carbon fibre.
