The method involves injecting fuel into an injection chamber (2), and analyzing formation of fuel mixture (3) in the chamber. Pressure in the chamber is determined, and the quality of the fuel mixture is determined using a pressure sensor (5) in dependent upon pressure characteristics. A phase-doppler-anemomentry is implemented for determining spatial distribution of the fuel quality. The pressure determination step and the quality determination step are implemented in a continuous manner. An average drop variable, aggregate condition are determined in dependent upon the characteristics. An independent claim is also included for a device for analysis of the injection process in a fuel injector.
