PURPOSE: A backlight unit and a liquid crystal display device having the same are provided to prevent the damage of the liquid crystal display device due to an external pressure. CONSTITUTION: A backlight unit comprises one or more light source(153) for emitting light, a light guide plate(140) placed in parallel with the light source for changing a pot light to a plane light, and a bottom cover(170) in which one or more reinforcing part is included corresponding to the arrangement of the light source. The reinforcing part is seamlessly connected along the side longitudinal direction of the bottom cover. |
