<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably displace a displacement body along an axial direction, allow the optimal guide mechanism to be selected according to the size of a required load, and also increase rigidity in an actuator. <P>SOLUTION: In the actuator 10 including a cylinder body 12 inside which a piston 58 is provided so as to be freely displaced, a piston rod 40 connected to the piston 58 is projected outside from the end of the cylinder body 12. On the other hand, the cylinder body 12 is detachably attached with a guide unit 26 having a guide body 94 mounted on the cylinder body 12 and a pair of guide rods 98a and 98b provided to the guide body 94 so as to be freely displaced. Then, the guide rods 98a and 98b on the guide unit 26 and the piston rod 40 are mutually connected by a connection plate 100.
