1,010,170. Rope railways. R. BOJULAZ. May 26, 1964 [May 31, 1963], No. 21758/64. Heading B7L. A conveyer comprises connected bodies each having a beam 5 pivotally supported at 6 on bogies 7, 8, movable along runway 1, Fig. 3, by a flexible member 11 driven by motor 12, Fig. 5, and engaging a pulley 10 on each bogie. The pulley 10 drives rollers 19 which bear against a central rail 4 through a speed reducing mechanism comprising shaft 13, gear 14, chain 15, gears 16 and shaft 18. Guide rollers 20 freely mounted on shafts 18 bear against a rail 2; the rails 2, 3 may be two L-section members. The flexible member 11 passes around a tensioning pulley 22 and may be a belt or cable, it may also be endless or of finite length driven in a reciprocatory manner. The speed reducing mechanism may drive wheels 8 instead of rollers 19. A second flexible member may drive a second set of pulleys 10 on each body or several in-line members may drive the train of bodies over different parts of the runway. |
