METHOD OF REPAIRING MECHANICAL COMPONENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that allows easy repair if erosion is generated at an erosion-resistant mechanical component. SOLUTION: There is disclosed a method of repairing a mechanical component formed at the front edge of a tip of a steam turbine blade requiring erosion resistance and where an eroding part with a depth of smaller than 10μm is generated at a portion formed with a thickness of 5 to 10μm from an iron based metal composition with an Si content of 3 to 11 wt.%. During a time when an iron based metal composition having an Si content of 3 to 11 wt.% is again formed with a thickness of 5 to 10μm at the eroding part, a discharge pulse which is generated so that a time integrated value of the current value of the discharge pulse is in a range of 30 to 80 A.μs is repeatedly generated with respect to an Si electrode to repair the erosion-resistant mechanical component.
