A method of learning associations between pairs of meaning equivalents in first and target languages comprises the spontaneous manifestation or display of words and short phrases, wherein a meaning equivalent from one language is initially displayed, and a paired equivalent from the other language is consecutively displayed to elicit a voluntary remembrance of the meaning. Manifestation is carried out through visual or auditory channels. Pictures and signs supporting meaning identification may also be used. Pairs of the equivalents are stored in a special thesaurus database. The process of displaying words or pictures can be combined with the userâ s other computer-implemented activities or included into a dedicated userâ s context (such as an educational game). Methodology proposed is to enhance web-based and off-the-shelf curriculums in addition to personal electronic devices. |
