PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily edit an image that has been read by an image reading apparatus. SOLUTION: An MFP 10 includes: an image reading unit 16 that optically scans a document and reads an document image; a display unit 24 that displays the document image that has been read by the image reading unit 16; an editing instruction unit 20 that instructs that the document image displayed by the display unit 24 is edited; and an image processing unit 18 that edits the document image and outputs data of the edited document image according to the instruction made by the editing instruction unit 20.
