PURPOSE: A method and device for detecting the corrosion of a power transmission line are provided to accurately measure a corrosion level of metal in the power transmission line by using a signal with a multiple frequency. CONSTITUTION: A signal separator(140) separates a reference signal and a measurement signal according to a frequency. A controller(160) calculates the corrosion level of internal metal by using the reference signal and the measurement signal separated according to the frequency. A driving motor controller(210) receives a speed signal from the controller and controls a driving motor by corresponding to a speed signal. A driving wheel(230) travels in a measurement line with a speed controlled by the driving motor. A driving wheel width control device(240) controls the width of the driving wheel by corresponding to the thickness of the measurement line.
