PURPOSE: An electronic scale is provided to enhance the utilization of a cabinet since it is determined according to the moving position of a measuring plate whether the weight a target is sensed. CONSTITUTION: An electronic scale comprises a body(100), a measuring plate(200) and a weight sensing determining unit. The body forms a display unit(160) for displaying measured weight. The measuring plate is loaded on the body. The measuring plate is slidably coupled to the top of the body. The measuring plate holds a target. If the measuring plate slides to one side of the body by a given distance, the weight sensing determining unit senses the weight of the target. If the measuring plate slides to the other side of the body by a given distance, the weight sensing determining unit determines whether to sense the weight of the target to cancel the weight sensing of the target. The weight sensing determining unit comprises a load-cell sensor, a load transfer member, a load applying and cancel unit.
