PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plane display device, wherein response speed of a liquid crystal is improved, and an accurate signal voltage is supplied to a pixel electrode, and to provide a driving method of the plane display device. SOLUTION: The plane display device includes: a plurality of pixel circuits formed on a display domain; a vertical driver for driving successively selectively a horizontal array line group of the plurality of pixel circuits, and setting a pixel signal supply period; and a horizontal driver for supplying a writing signal to a pixel circuit in which the pixel signal supply period is set. The horizontal driver generates a writing signal (Vsig-new) corrected by adding, to a present signal, a correction value determined by multiplying by a coefficient k', a value acquired by subtracting a signal level center value (VsigC) from a mean value of a previous-frame signal (potential=Vsig-mae) and a present-frame signal (potential=Vsig-gen).
