PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a garment by which coloration reaches the edge of the opening of a garment. SOLUTION: The method for producing a garment includes: applying a film-like ornamental body onto the front face of a cloth to form an ornamental area; linearly cutting the cloth to include part of the ornamental area so as to form a cutting line; folding the edge part of the cutting line to the back side of the cloth to form a folded piece so as to make an opening in the cloth; superimposing a tape part on the folded piece so as to let a slider and an element expose through the opening at a slide fastener including the slider, the element and the tape part; and sewing them up together.
