The device i.e. fuel high-pressure pump (10), has a conveying element for conveying a medium i.e. fuel, and an actuator i.e. cam, cooperating with the conveying element. A stroke movement of the conveying element is caused by the actuator for conveying the medium. A shaft drives the actuator that exhibits two actuating parts, where different strokes of the conveying element are caused by the actuating parts. One of the actuating parts is alternatively driven by the shaft for causing different strokes of the conveying element, and designed as three-fold cams and as four-fold cams.
