PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a protective structure without cutting a power source cord by mistake when performing operation with a horticultural electric cutting tool such as a hedge trimmer for carrying out clipping operation of a garden tree, etc. SOLUTION: This protective structure for the power source cord 7 is obtained by mounting a protective tube 8 having a larger diameter D than a pitch P of cutting blades 4 and 4 formed in blade plates 2 and 3 and flexibility for enabling free flexing on the power source cord 7 of the horticultural electric cutting tool for cutting branches, leaves, etc., of a tree by sliding the two blade plates 2 and 3 having the outwardly protruding cutting blades 4 and shearing actions of the cutting blades 4 and 4. In this state, the protective tube 8 does not enter the space between the cutting blades 4 even when the protective tube 8 is brought into contact with the cutting blades 4 of the cutting plates 2 and 3 and acts so as to be rather pushed out from the space between the cutting blades 4.
