PURPOSE: A device for controlling the oil pump of a vehicle is provided to prevent a second oil pump from uselessly operating and to prevent an oil supply unit from experiencing a lack of oil pressure during rapid deceleration. CONSTITUTION: A device for controlling the oil pump of a vehicle comprises a first driving source, a first oil pump, a second oil pump, an oil supply unit, a vehicle- speed estimating unit, and a second oil pump control unit. The first driving source drives a vehicle. The first oil pump is driven by the first driving source. The second oil pump is driven by the second driving source. The oil supply unit receives oil from the first and second oil pumps. The vehicle-speed estimating unit estimates vehicle speed after a given period of time based on the driving state of the vehicle. The second oil pump control unit estimates whether the discharge pressure of the first oil pump is not sufficient in comparison to the pressure that the oil supply unit requires. |
