<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminator that performs bounce imaging on a better condition. <P>SOLUTION: The illuminator, which illuminates an imaging object when imaging the imaging object, includes: a light-emitting part configured to generate illuminating light; a driving part configured to change an irradiating direction of the illuminating light; a measuring part configured to measure luminance of the imaging object irradiated with the illuminating light in a plurality of irradiating directions changed by the driving part; and a determination part configured to determine an irradiating direction, in which the highest luminance is measured out of luminance measured by the measuring part, as an irradiating direction adapted when imaging the imaging object. In the illuminator, the driving part may change the irradiating direction within a range where the imaging object is irradiated with the illuminating light as indirect light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
