PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve user-friendliness of a portable-type multi-function electronic instrument having functions such as a mobile phone function, a still camera function, etc. SOLUTION: The portable-type electronic instrument includes a body 1 and a lid 2, which are arranged in a foldable way by turnably joining them using a joining member 3, with a group of input keys and a main display provided on sides of folded-over inner surfaces of the body 1 and the lid 2, and with a camera unit 9 and a sub-display 17 provided on sides of folded-over outer surfaces. This arrangement can achieve such a portable multi-function electronic instrument that is not only easy to use as a mobile phone but easy to use as a still camera also: for example, even in a folded mode, that is, in a standby state as the mobile phone, the instrument can immediately be used as the still camera.
