1,239,276. Hydrodynamic transmission. VOITH GETRIEBE K.G. 18 Oct., 1968 [18 Oct., 1967], No. 49603/68. Heading F2D. A hydrodynamic transmission has at least one pair of hydrodynamic drive units arranged in a single self-supporting housing member with their axes parallel and with their fluid circuits offset from one another axially and overlapping between the axes. The gear is assembled from box units 1-4. The input shaft 5 drives the pump wheels of concentric torque converters via gear-wheels 6, 7, 8 and hollow shafts 11, 12. Forward drive is transmitted from the turbine wheels via shaft 13, gear-wheels 15, 16, 17, 19 and 20 to the output shaft 21 and reverse drive is transmitted from the turbine wheels via shaft 14, gear-wheels 16, 17, 19 and 20 to shaft 21, the shafts being arranged with gear-wheels 7 and 8 in mesh with gear-wheel 6 (i.e. not as shown, Fig. 1). A secondary lubricating pump 23 and a slide valve 24 for the convertor fluid are arranged in unit 2 and an automatic change-gear regulator 25 is driven by a gear-wheel 26. The primary and secondary shafts may have sections joined by radially toothed flanges. |
