PURPOSE: A method for simply and accurately detecting and quantitating Lactococcus garvieae by real time PCR is provided. CONSTITUTION: A method for detecting or quantitating Lactococcus garvieae comprises: a step of preparing a sample; a step of amplifying a nucleotide sequence in the sample using primers of sequence numbers 1 and 2; and a step of confirming the amplified resultant. The sample is a food or natural environmental substance. The amplification is performed by real time PCR.
