PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide novel efficacy as a medicine of a tetracycline compound. SOLUTION: There is provided a method for treating diseases with a tetracycline compound exhibiting target-treating activities, where the disease are inflammatory process-associated states, or a matrix metalloproteinase-associated states, specifically respiratory diseases, circulatory diseases, cancer, bone diseases, diabetes and the like. Further, the diseases include neurological disorders (Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, senile dementia, multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), epilepsy, autonomic function disorder, sleep disorder, neuropsychiatric disorder, depression, schizophrenia, mania, anxiety disorder, phobic disorder, learning disorder, memory disorder, amnesia, age-related memory loss, anxiety, migraine, traumatic brain injury, nerve damage and the like).
