The hinge (1) has a hinge lower part (2) movably connected with a hinge upper part (3), and an intermediate lever (4) rotatably connected with the hinge lower part. An actuator (14) e.g. hydraulic actuator, lifts the hinge upper part over the intermediate lever. The actuator is arranged parallel to longitudinal adjustment of the hinge lower part. The hinge lower part is tiltable with respect to the hinge upper part. The hinge upper part comprises a bottom hinge upper part (7) and a top hinge upper part (6). The top hinge upper part and the bottom hinge upper part are connected by a joint (8). An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a hinge.
