PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abrasion measuring device of a sheave groove of an elevator hoisting machine, inexpensively manufacturable, capable of enhancing measuring accuracy, and capable of safely and easily performing measuring work. SOLUTION: This abrasion measuring device 10 for measuring abrasion of the sheave groove of the elevator hoisting machine 100, includes a contact member 2 arranged so as to contact with the winding inside of a rope 1 wound on the sheave groove, a rocking arm 3 rockably supporting this contact member 2, a fulcrum shaft bar 4 for fixing a base end part of this rocking arm 3, a pointer 6 and a graduations plate 7 for measuring a rotation quantity of the fulcrum shaft bar 4.
