The method involves sending charging pillar-characteristics e.g. telephone number, using a data device (13) e.g. mobile telephone, to a central unit (6). Vehicle user-characteristics e.g. names, are sent to the central unit. The user-characteristics are compared with registering information e.g. credit limit information. The unit sends a releasing signal for releasing a charging pillar (2) so that electrical current is fed from the pillar to the vehicle, during correlation of the user-characteristics with the information. The electrical quantity that is discharged to the vehicle is metered. An independent claim is also included for a device for energizing the electrical operable vehicle.
