PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive method for producing sulfur-containing electrolytic nickel, which removes Cl<SB>2</SB>in electrolysis waste liquid only by a vacuum degassing method, repeatedly uses the electrolysis waste liquid without using an adsorption technique by activated carbon for removing Cl<SB>2</SB>, and does not produce waste activated carbon which has adsorbed Cl<SB>2</SB>. SOLUTION: When obtaining a mixed solution by mixing a solution of nickel chloride and the electrolysis waste liquid, then obtaining an electrolysis supply liquid by adding sodium thiosulfate to the mixed solution, and obtaining sulfur-containing electrolytic nickel by using a diaphragm electrolytic method, this production method includes: determining a sufficient amount of sodium thiosulfate for reducing Cl<SB>2</SB>in the mixed solution from Formula 1: 0.0555×X-1.59≤Y≤0.0675×X-1.815, wherein X (g/L) is a nickel concentration in the electrolysis supply liquid; and Y(mg) is an amount of sodium thiosulfate necessary for reducing Cl<SB>2</SB>contained in 1l of the electrolysis waste liquid that is repeatedly subjected to the above operation (of mixing the nickel solution mainly containing the chloride with the electrolysis waste liquid); and adding the total amount of the above amount and an amount necessary for adjusting the concentration of sodium thiosulfate in the electrolysis supply liquid to 0.006-0.012 g/L, to the mixed solution.
