PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system, a terminal device, a navigation server and a device and a method for navigation which retrieve facilities around the area of a display screen, while making a detailed map displayed on the screen, make a display mode altered according to positional relations etc., and thereby make intelligible guide information about the facilities displayed. SOLUTION: Display area information about a display area of a map display screen displayed in a display part is acquired, and facility information on the facilities present in a prescribed area around a prescribed point on the map based on the map data based on the display area information is retrieved and acquired as the result of the facility information retrieval. The facilities present outside the display area of the map display screen are extracted from the result of the facility information retrieval, and outside-screen facility guide information is generated by altering the display mode according to the positional relations between the prescribed point and the facilities, based on the positional information on these facilities.
